There's no deal like an ordeal...

We got a chance to attend a conference in Washington DC this weekend. The travel agency we were forced to use was horrible and goofed up our airline tickets so badly that we lost a 1.5 days of our three day trip. The hotel was wonderful, the food was delicious, and we did find some time to take in some of the sites of our nation's capital. Here are a few photos. We really have to get back there again. When we do, we will book the tickets ourselves on any other airline besides US Air. I forgot how much they truly suck. Juliet wants to go to business school and become CEO of the airline. When that happens, she will immediately shut down the airline and send everyone in the country a letter of apology. I look forward to that day.
We did manage to see some cool stuff. Below are a few photos of the fun.
Long story short, USAir abandoned us in Richmond VA at midnight on Friday night. We were lucky to rent this beat-up Mercury at Dollar rental. Ralph had to squeeze it into a compact car space at the hotel. What defines a compact car? After all it fit into the parking space...

For mom, the coolest part of the trip was the National Gallery of Art. Even the girls look cool sitting in the garden in front of the museum.

Five Grecian sprites in the rotunda of the National Gallery.
Ralph stabbed by the DC monument.

Margo hangin' in  the hotel lobby.

Checking out the sites by trolley. The threat of terrorism has changed DC tourism since the last time I visited. We used to be able to actually drive by the important buildings. Nowadays we got to see the blocked driveways that lead to them. When we have more time we will walk around the monuments.

Outside Ford's theater. "Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how  did you like the play?"
